FBCYICN – Federation of BC Youth in Care Networks

Help us make some REALLY important decisions…such as WHICH AMAZING YOUTH IN AND FROM CARE we should give some $$$ to help with their school and training!  We are looking for 2 youth members, 1 Alumni, and 1 Board Member to sit on the Dream Fund Selection Committee!  The Committee would be responsible for choosing successful applicants for our Dream Fund Bursaries, which provides financial support to young people interested in career training and/or education opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and review 7- 10 applications
• Attend a MANDATORY meeting on July 19 from 5:30-7:30pm
• Evaluate applications based on a set criteria
• Work with other Committee members to select successful applicants
• Keep strict confidentiality during and after process

Skills/Knowledge we’re looking for:

• Reading and Comprehension
• Evaluate fairly and without bias
• Ability to deal with conflict
• Ability to keep STRICT confidentiality

Training provided and required:

• FBCYICN Orientation
• Application criteria

What you’ll get:

• Volunteer hours counted towards honorarium (if you are a youth; 14-24 years old)
• Invitation to Volunteer Appreciation Events
• Letter of reference if requested
