Greeter for November Retreat

We are looking for four friendly and energetic members to greet participants as they arrive on the Saturday for the retreat, and help us get organized and ready!  As a Retreat Greeter, you are the lead in making sure new participants feel comfortable and welcomed at the start of their Fed youth retreat experience!  Other responsibilities include organizing event supplies and doing a roll-call of the participants at the on both the Friday and Sunday of the retreat

Start Date: Friday November 3, 2017 End Date: Sunday, November 5, 2017
Time Commitment: 2:00pm – 4:00pm on Friday (November 3) and 2:00pm- 4:00pm on Sunday (November 5).

Key Responsibilities: 
Friday:
  • Greeting SCM participants when they arrive at the hotel lobby, asking them to sign-in and informing them where to put their luggage
  • Introducing new members/youth to staff and other members present at the SCM
  • Checking-in with participants and making sure they are included and feeling comfortable
  • Role call of the participants once SCM officially starts
  • Role model, informing staff of any problems/issues that come up
Sunday:
  • Organizing and packing up supplies at the end of the SCM
  • Loading vans with supplies to be brought back to the office
  • Cleaning up camp before departing
  • Role call of the participants once SCM ends and updating staff
  • Role model, informing staff of any problems/issues that come up
Skills/Knowledge we’re looking for:
  • Reliable
  • Responsible
  • Effective and clear communicator
  • Leadership and knowledge of FBCYICN and SCMs
What you’ll get:
  • Up to 5 hours towards volunteer honorarium for youth volunteers (Every 20 hours, receive $100)
  • More knowledge of the SCM planning/procedure

  • Provincial recognition in our Power Pages magazine
  • Letter of reference if requested
