Fed youth members were a driving force behind the launch of the first BC Child and Youth in Care Week in 2011! Every year since, the first week of June has been dedicated to celebrating BC’s amazing children and youth in care! Join us and our partners in honoring their awesomeness and raising awareness about the stigma of growing up in government care.

Why do think youth in care are awesome? Join the campaign by submitting an original answer to this question. Creative submissions welcome including visual art, videos, poems, essays and more. Youth receive a small honorarium!

Recognition Awards celebrate the amazing achievements of children and youth in and from care. In past years, we recognized over 500 young people! Nominate a young person in or from care who deserves to be celebrated (or nominate yourself!).

Host an event in your community for BC Child and Youth in Care Week! Community Celebration Grants can contribute up to $250 to support your local event. Join us in honoring young people in and from care across the province!
