Holiday Event Grants Selection Committee

We're looking for youth and alumni to sit on the Holiday Event Grant Selection Committee, which choose successful applicants for the Fed’s annual Holiday Event Grants.

Deadline to Apply: November 12, 2019

Date: November 13, 2019 from 2-5 PM

Time Commitment: Mandatory three-hour meeting at the Fed office

This volunteer opportunity is open to: Youth in or from care (14-24) and alumni (25+)

Location: at the Fed office at 500-625 Agnes St., New Westminster, BC


Key responsibilities:

  • Attend a MANDATORY meeting on November 13 from 2-5 at the Fed office
  • Discuss and evaluate Holiday Grant applications with the other selection committee members
  • Work with other Committee members to select successful applicants
  • Keep strict confidentiality during and after process


Skills and knowledge we’re looking for:

  • Reading and Comprehension
  • Evaluate fairly and without bias
  • Ability to deal with conflict
  • Ability to keep STRICT confidentiality


   Training provided and required:

  • Application criteria
  • Copy of Holiday Event Application package


  What you’ll get:

  • Volunteer hours counted towards honorarium if you're a youth (every 20 hours means a $100 from us!)
  • Reference letter if requested
